The exhibition Ten Huize by Anita Fleerackers is largely devoted to works of art by John John Hoelen and Lieve Ophalvens. “John John Hoelen is a purebred Belgian artist and activist. He trained in film at The London International Film School in 1992,” explained Anita Fleerackers. “After that, John was bitten by recycling, using, reusing, cutting and reusing materials until nothing remains. Always reusing everything, from bottle caps to metal boxes to beer crates: John sees art in everything.”
Lieve Ophalvens experiments with different types of technique and with different materials. The artist expresses her feelings mainly in female portrait paintings, with close-ups of the eyes, in which she maximally expresses her feelings and always with a colorful background.
In addition to these artists, the permanent core with Stef Janssens, Tessa Renders, Michèle Voeten, Anette Defoort and Anita Fleerackers will bring a variety of new creations.
The expo at Anita Fleerackers at Hemeldonk 9 in Gierle is open March 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, and 24, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each time. (bvdl)
