Aquarelles by painting talent Celine (88) are on display at Anita Fleerackers gallery

Gierle/Tielen –88-year-old Celine Van Ballaer from Tielen (Kasterlee) is exhibiting a number of aquarelles at Anita Fleerackers’ gallery in Gierle (Lille) this month. “Celine is a painting talent to be proud of,” says the gallery owner.

“88 years young and an icon in her village of Tielen. Celine spent many years being ready for her fellow men, the women of KVLV and for flower arranging. But what many don’t know is that Celine has a painting talent to say hello to.” Anita Fleerackers has nothing but praise for the artist she welcomes to her gallery at Hemeldonk in Gierle this month. “With her watercolor paintings, in number and quality, Celine has literally blown my socks off. They are all gems.”

Nature as inspiration

“Nature is Celine Van Ballaer’s source of inspiration. The color palette of flowers and the intensity of their colors: you can smell the bouquet as it were,” outlines the gallery owner. “Walk with us through the Balderij and enjoy the beautiful play of colors and the playful reflection in the water. Feel at home among the fields under the view of the church tower. Taste the village of Tielen that is so close to her heart. Her works are much loved and hang in many living rooms, where they are cherished.”

Celine Van Ballaer is exhibiting her works throughout June, along with John John Hoelen, Stef Janssens, Tessa Renders, Michèle Voeten, Anita Fleerackers and several more regular artists in the gallery. The gallery at Hemeldonk 9 in Gierle is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday each day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or by appointment. On Saturday, June 29, the gallery will be closed. (bvdl)
