During the March edition of” Ten Huize van” we will present works by Lieve Ophalvens, John John Hoelen, Tessa Renders, Stef Janssens, Mich\u00e8le Voeten and Annette Defoort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here in my living space, with beautiful views of and among nature, art lovers can quietly enjoy the artworks on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\nmy art will be a small positive particle in the immeasurable negativity on this earth. Man is not a war machine full of hatred and destruction. Therefore, I am constantly looking for His goodness and His beauty. I find these characteristics in the eyes, as being the mirror of the soul, and in the mouth as a source of emotion and turmoil. My characters are beautiful and lovely, their eyes are close-ups, and their mouths sensual. They are the positive core in this harsh world….<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A range of colors and materials are brought together to create atmospheres.Special techniques are combined, such as oil paint, acrylic paint, marbling and collage to achieve maximum effect. John John Hoelen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

John John Hoelen (b. 1968, Antwerp) is a Belgian recycling artist\/activist. He studied film at The London International Film School in 1992, but over the years refocused on mosaic and sculpture. In his early years he mainly opted for ceramics and glass, but for the last 5 years he has worked almost exclusively with waste material. What inspires him as an artist is the exploration of neglected materials, something that arose largely from his lifelong concern about the decline of nature and the climate. Tessa Renders<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our youngest artist is horse driven, she brings the horse to canvas in a modern way. Tessa is 18, attending academy, her participation is a great start for a bright future. Click here to view her work<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stef Janssens<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Studies at KUL Leuven and has a passion for drawing and cartooning. He will show his very strong hand drawn and digitally colored prints, Stef will be present in due time to sign his comics, in 2020 Stef was winner of the Prize of the city of Turnhout for his comic “Alle Grenzen Voorbij”. Mich\u00e8le Voeten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Annette Defoort<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Her ceramic sculptures have a humorous side, they are a pleasure to have them near you. Annette has been on an international journey for many years. She has many international nominations to her credit. Click here to view her work<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anita Fleerackers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nature? Of course Nature! Nature has always been a source of inspiration for artists. For Anita, too, it is an inexhaustible source of her inspiration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feelings and characters<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Feelings and characters, rendered minimalist.Over and over, hand-built in different stages, waiting, creating compositions and finding balance, over and over again. A sculpture should be well shaped, because even if you put your most beautiful color on it, when the shape is bad, the beautiful color won’t help.Feeling the materials, taking time for this. I I call it respecting the clay, because when I work too fast the clay wraps itself up, disagrees and spits out its anger in a thousand pieces in the oven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful colors. Pixelism!<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful colors of nature in all seasons. Early in the morning, the freezing temperatures hanging in the air as the sun rises. It gives a prism to colors in the sky, or the sun, which tries to break through the nebula. The many shades of green in spring and the splendour of blossoms, summer by the sea, autumn with all shades of reddish-brown. Winter, a residual rose buried in the snow. Her paintings are memories, which, like photographs, contain thousands of pixels, built up by squares of about 1 cm by 1 cm. Pixelism! Labor-intensive but at the same time soothing, and unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
